About The Role


  • Deliver safe, high\-quality cathodic protection (CP) inspection campaigns, primarily offshore subsea, with capability to support onshore CP surveys.

  • Ensure accurate acquisition, processing, and reporting of CP data in line with industry standards and client expectations.

  • Maintain survey equipment readiness and reliability to support operational delivery.

  • Support business growth through client engagement and high\-quality technical delivery.

  • Uphold full compliance with HSEQ standards and contribute to Altrad’s safety culture.

Main Activities: (main day\-to\-day activities and the outputs of the role the individual is expected to deliver)

Survey Execution

  • Plan and execute CP survey campaigns (offshore and onshore) in accordance with procedures and specifications. Output: Successfully completed surveys delivered safely, on time, and to quality standards.

  • Conduct subsea CP inspections using SubCAPSS and perform onshore techniques such as CP monitoring, CIPS, and DCVG surveys. Output: Accurate, complete CP datasets for subsea and buried assets.

  • Undertake marine and landfall CP data acquisition for both sacrificial and impressed current systems. Output: Verified field data suitable for analysis and reporting.
Data Management \& Reporting
  • Process, interpret, and analyse CP data.

  • Prepare and contribute to technical reports for client delivery. Output: High\-quality, accurate reports aligned with client and industry requirements.

  • Ensure all collected data is properly recorded, referenced, and traceable. Output: Reliable and auditable data sets.
Equipment \& Technical Support
  • Maintain, test, calibrate, and repair survey equipment. Output: Fully operational and reliable survey equipment.

  • Support mobilisation, demobilisation, and readiness of equipment for projects. Output: Efficient mobilisation with minimal downtime or technical issues.

  • Utilise additional survey technologies as required, following appropriate training. Output: Effective integration of complementary technologies.
Workshop \& Operational Support
  • Support workshop operations including housekeeping, audits, and inventory control. Output: Safe, organised, and compliant working environment.

  • Assist manufacturing/product build activities when not deployed offshore. Output: Contribution to internal production and business continuity.
HSEQ \& Compliance
  • Adhere to all HSEQ policies, procedures, and risk assessments. Output: Zero harm performance and full safety compliance.

  • Contribute to development and review of procedures, risk assessments, and technical documentation. Output: Continuous improvement in operational and technical standards.
Teamwork \& Business Support
  • Support training and mentoring of junior personnel. Output: Improved team competency and capability.

  • Build and maintain strong client relationships. Output: Positive client feedback and potential business growth opportunities.

  • Make sound technical decisions during mobilisation and field operations. Output: Efficient and effective survey execution.

  • Supports training and mentoring of junior staff and new employees

  • Active team member in offshore and onshore operations

  • Work with Data Processing \& Analysis personnel to support comprehensive data analysis and reporting.
Qualifications / Experience:

Academic Qualifications

Experience

  • Experience in cathodic protection surveys, preferably within offshore subsea environments

  • Knowledge of onshore CP survey techniques (CIPS, DCVG, CP monitoring) desirable

  • Experience in CP data acquisition, analysis, and reporting

  • Familiarity with CP survey systems

  • Practical workshop experience in the testing, calibration, maintenance, and fault\-finding of electrical measurement equipment, including sensors and instruments used for testing, monitoring and surveying

  • HNC (or equivalent) in Engineering, Electrical, Corrosion, or related discipline

  • OR demonstrable experience in a similar role

  • BS EN ISO 15257 – Marine Metallic Structures Level 2 – Cathodic Protection Technician (Desirable)
Skills \& Competencies
  • Strong technical understanding of cathodic protection systems

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and planning tools

  • Problem\-solving and decision\-making capability in operational environments

  • High attention to detail and data accuracy

  • Hands\-on technical skills, including:

+ Equipment testing, calibration, and maintenance
+ Fault finding and diagnostics of survey instrumentation
+ Soldering and basic electrical repair work
