A busy high school, working 39 weeks per year working 36 hours per week Monday to Friday, this is a term time role with an early finish on a Friday.
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Catering Chef Manager to oversee and coordinate all aspects of catering operations within our organisation . The successful candidate will be responsible for food production, baking is a must for this role, supervising staff, and ensuring exceptional service delivery. This role offers an exciting opportunity for a professional with a strong background in hospitality, culinary arts, and team management to lead our catering team and uphold the highest standards of food safety and customer satisfaction.
Duties
- Plan, organise, and oversee catering events, ensuring all client requirements are met to a high standard
- Supervise kitchen staff, servers, and other team members to ensure efficient workflow and excellent service
- Coordinate food preparation and cooking processes, maintaining quality and presentation standards
- Manage food production schedules, inventory control, and procurement of supplies
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain hygiene standards across all catering activities
- Develop menus in collaboration with clients, incorporating dietary restrictions and preferences
- Oversee the setup and breakdown of catering events, ensuring timely delivery and presentation
- Train new staff members in food safety procedures, service protocols, and organisational policies
- Maintain excellent communication with clients to ensure their expectations are met or exceeded
- Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, and kitchen operations within a hospitality or restaurant environment
- Strong supervising experience with the ability to lead diverse teams effectively
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple events simultaneously
- Knowledge of food safety standards and regulations applicable to catering services
- Demonstrated leadership qualities with a focus on team management and motivation
- Experience in food production, serving, and hospitality environments such as hotels or restaurants
- Familiarity with culinary techniques and menu development
- Ability to work under pressure whilst maintaining attention to detail
- Good communication skills to liaise effectively with clients, suppliers, and team members
