Actual salary: £12\.71 per hour (pay award pending) (FTE: £24,520 per annum)

Contract:

Post 1: 35 hours per week \- Permanent \- 39 weeks per year

Post 2: 17\.5 hours per week \- Permanent \- 39 weeks per year

Post 3: 17\.5 hours per week \- Permanent \- 39 weeks per year

Brookfield Community School has a fantastic opportunity for three Catering Assistants to join our busy and successful school kitchen. With a brand\-new, state\-of\-the\-art kitchen opening in September 2026, this is an exciting time to become part of our dedicated in\-house catering team.

The successful candidates will support the delivery of a high\-quality catering service that meets the needs of our students and wider school community. You will assist with the preparation of fresh, healthy meals and snacks, and help maintain a safe, clean, and well\-organised kitchen environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation, cooking and serving of food and beverages

  • Ensure a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene at all times

  • Support the catering team in maintaining a safe working environment

  • Comply with all Food Safety and Health \& Safety regulations

  • Help ensure catering standards meet School Food Standards and Food Standards Agency requirements

  • Provide a positive and professional service to students and staff
