We're looking for a dynamic and driven Business Development Manager \- Protection, Safety, Hygiene \& Chemical Solutions to join our Commercial team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in one of Rubix's strategic growth categories, helping customers improve workplace safety, compliance, operational performance and sustainability.

As well as delivering an exceptional standard of service to customers, you'll be responsible for driving new business growth, developing strategic customer relationships and identifying opportunities to expand our Protection, Safety, Hygiene \& Chemical offering across a diverse industrial customer base.

Working closely with our sales teams, suppliers and category specialists, you'll help customers implement solutions that protect people, improve site standards and optimise operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

As Business Development Manager \- Protection, Safety, Hygiene \& Chemical, you will be responsible for driving category growth and developing sales opportunities across the Rubix customer portfolio.

  • Drive category sales growth across Protection, Safety, Hygiene \& Chemical product ranges.

  • Develop and execute a strategic sales plan to identify, secure and grow new business opportunities.

  • Support quotations, tenders, site surveys and customer projects.

  • Identify opportunities for cross\-selling, category expansion and value\-added solutions.

  • Partner with key account managers and regional sales teams to develop customer\-specific growth plans.

  • Promote workplace safety, compliance and best practice through customer engagement and solution\-led selling.

  • Build strong relationships with key suppliers and manufacturers to maximise customer value and market opportunities.

  • Support the development and implementation of sales campaigns, training programmes and commercial initiatives.

  • Deliver product demonstrations, customer presentations and category awareness sessions.

  • Maintain current knowledge of industry regulations, safety standards, market trends, products and applications.

  • Develop and manage a robust pipeline of opportunities through the sales cycle.
Key Skills / Qualifications

Essential

  • Strong knowledge of Protection, Safety, Hygiene and/or Chemical product categories, applications and customer requirements.

  • Experience in business development or solution selling within industrial, manufacturing, facilities management or safety\-related markets.

  • Understanding of workplace safety regulations, compliance requirements and industry best practice.

  • Ability to identify customer challenges and develop value\-added solutions.

  • Proven track record of delivering sales growth and new business acquisition.

  • Strong stakeholder management and relationship\-building skills.

  • Ability to influence and engage customers at operational, procurement and leadership levels.

  • Excellent commercial awareness and negotiation skills.

  • Strong presentation and communication skills.

  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel nationally.
Desirable
  • Experience selling PPE, workplace safety solutions, cleaning and hygiene products, industrial chemicals, MRO solutions or related industrial consumables.

  • Understanding of risk assessment, site safety programmes and compliance frameworks.

  • Experience with B2B industrial sales and distribution environments.

  • Knowledge of sustainability and environmental considerations relating to safety, hygiene and chemical management.

  • Data analysis and CRM pipeline management experience.

  • Experience developing category growth strategies and supplier partnerships.
