Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Care Co\-ordinator to oversee children’s residential care services. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting young people, ensuring their safety, wellbeing, and development within a nurturing environment. This position offers an opportunity to lead a team, develop personalised care plans, and make a positive impact on children’s lives. The role requires strong leadership, excellent communication skills, and a genuine passion for child welfare.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate daily operations within the children’s residential home, ensuring high standards of care are maintained.

  • Supervise and support care staff to deliver personalised care and support plans tailored to each child's needs.

  • Develop, implement, and review individualised care plans in collaboration with multi\-disciplinary teams, children, and their families.

  • Monitor the wellbeing of children and respond promptly to any concerns or incidents.

  • Lead on safeguarding procedures to ensure the safety of all children within the home.

  • Organise and facilitate activities that promote social inclusion, personal development, and life skills.

  • Maintain accurate records using IT systems for care planning, incident reports, and daily logs.

  • Liaise with external agencies such as social workers, health professionals, and educational providers to support children's holistic development.

  • Drive organisational initiatives aimed at continuous improvement of service delivery.
Skills
  • Proven supervising experience within a care home or senior care environment involving children or vulnerable adults.

  • Strong leadership qualities with the ability to motivate and manage a team effectively.

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage with children, families, staff, and external agencies professionally.

  • Experience in developing and managing care plans tailored to individual needs.

  • Valid driving licence is desirable for transporting children or attending meetings outside the home.

  • Good IT skills for maintaining accurate records and using relevant software systems.

  • Knowledge of safeguarding policies and procedures relevant to children’s residential care.
