Care Assistant
About the Role
We are looking for a compassionate, reliable, and motivated Carer (Days) to join our established team at Shropshire Respite Centre. You will support vulnerable adults, including individuals living with dementia, to live safely, comfortably, and with dignity.
You will work collaboratively alongside Senior Carers, the Registered Manager, and the wider staff team, playing a vital role in ensuring our service remains safe, caring, effective, and well\-led.
This role is ideal for someone who values person\-centred care, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
Shift Pattern
This role follows a two\-week rolling rota, providing consistency for both staff and residents:
- Week 1: Monday, Tuesday, Saturday, Sunday
- Week 2: Wednesday, Thursday, Friday
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high\-quality, person\-centred care in line with individual care plans *(CQC S1\)*
- Support residents with personal care, mobility, nutrition, hydration, and daily living activities
- Promote choice, dignity, independence, and emotional wellbeing at all times *(CQC S1\)*
- Observe, monitor, and accurately report changes in residents’ physical or emotional wellbeing *(CQC E1\)*
- Maintain clear, accurate, and timely care records
- Work safely and cooperatively within the team to ensure a well\-organised, supportive care environment *(CQC W1\)*
- Experience working withvulnerable adults in a care or support setting
- Understanding of person\-centred care and dignity in care
- Basic knowledge of dementia care and effective communication approaches
- Awareness of safeguarding adults and duty of care
- Ability to work as part of a team and follow care plans accurately
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Experience supporting individuals living with dementia or cognitive impairment
- Knowledge of CQC standards and best practice in adult social care
- Familiarity with care documentation and daily records
- Experience supporting people with mobility needs and use of equipment
- Understanding of equality, inclusion, and respectful care
