Calibration Engineer (on-site based)
We are a well\-established multiple location electrical test instrument calibration, service and repair business. We currently have a vacancy for a highly motivated individual in our expanding Calibration Department. You will part of a multi skilled team of internal and external engineers.
As an Onsite Electrical Calibration Engineer you should have a good knowledge of electrical engineering/calibration processes with some understanding of electronic/software systems and be able to confirm this with relevant qualifications or experience gained during your career development.
This is a predominately remote customer service based role. The role entails the carrying out test equipment calibration on site at customers premises. The candidate will also be required to work in our laboratory when not onsite. As part of this role the candidate will be required to travel to various customer locations and also provide cover to our other sites around the UK as required by our pre\-planned customer and staffing requirements.
To be suitable for this role, the following experience / characteristics are required/preferred:
- Hold a technical qualification such as served engineering apprenticeship, ONC, HND, HNC, NVQ/BTEC Level 3 and above or demonstrable relevant experience.
- Knowledge of calibration and UKAS certification preferred (but not essential as training will be provided).
- Knowledge of calibration practices and theories preferred (but not essential as training will be provided).
- Knowledge in Windows\-based applications and laboratory automation software preferred (but not essential as training will be provided).
- Experience of working within a Customer focused environment
- Good communication and organisational skills are essential as you will be liasing with the calibration team to plan your workload, often months in advance. This is a customer facing role and will require day to day communication onsite.
Full job specific training will be provided.
Package/Remuneration:
- 38\.75 hrs per week (however, it may be necessary to work outside these hours in order to complete your onsite work schedule).
- 25 days annual leave and Bank Holidays
- Exact starting salary dependent on experience.
