We are looking for a Team Leader/Manager for our young but established café in the busy town of Monmouth.
Are you passionate about fresh local food and engaging with people \- Friendly, organised, responsible, mature and loyal with previous operational café experience?
You must have energy and enthusiasm and the ability to inspire and lead a small team to deliver exceptional customer service.

Responsible for managing and recruiting staff, and ensuring the smooth running of all aspects of the café’s operations.
Front of House experience is essential, kitchen experience is an advantage in order to cover holidays.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing staff, ensuring excellent customer service, maintaining food safety standards, and creating a welcoming environment for all patrons. This role offers an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual with a passion for hospitality, food preparation, and team leadership to contribute to the success of our establishment.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate daily café operations, ensuring smooth workflow and high standards of service.
- Lead and motivate a team of baristas, servers, and kitchen staff to deliver exceptional customer experiences.
- Oversee food preparation and cooking processes, maintaining quality and presentation standards.
- Manage inventory levels, order supplies, and ensure proper storage and rotation of ingredients.
- Enforce food safety regulations and hygiene standards in line with legal requirements.
- Develop staff schedules, monitor performance, provide training, and support professional development.
- Handle customer enquiries, complaints, and feedback professionally to ensure satisfaction.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation within the café environment.
- Collaborate with suppliers and vendors to ensure timely delivery of products.
- Assist in menu planning and promotional activities to attract new customers.
- Proven supervising experience in a hospitality or restaurant setting, ideally within a café or similar environment.
- Strong background in food preparation, cooking, and food safety practices.
- Experience in team management, including scheduling, training, and performance evaluation.
- Knowledge of restaurant operations, hospitality standards, and customer service excellence.
- Familiarity with food production processes within a kitchen or hotel context is desirable.
- Barista experience is advantageous but not essential; however, familiarity with serving beverages is preferred.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to motivate staff and foster a positive working environment. This role is ideal for a proactive leader passionate about delivering outstanding hospitality experiences while managing efficient café operations.
