SHC Engineering is looking for a talented and creative CAD Design Product Engineer to join our growing engineering team. If you're passionate about automotive design, precision engineering, and bringing ideas to life, this is an exciting opportunity to help shape bespoke components and products for some of the UK's most unique Volkswagen campervan builds.

Working alongside our experienced fabrication, production, and design teams, you'll play a key role in developing innovative parts and systems that improve both functionality and aesthetics across our custom campervan projects.

What You'll Be Doing

• Designing bespoke components and assemblies for Volkswagen campervans using CAD software.


• Producing accurate 3D models, technical drawings, and manufacturing documentation.


• Working closely with engineers, fabricators, and production teams to develop new products from concept through to manufacture.


• Improving and refining existing products for performance, manufacturability, and cost efficiency.


• Assisting with prototype development, testing, and product validation.


• Creating production\-ready files for CNC machining, laser cutting, folding, and fabrication.


• Maintaining organised design files, revision control, and technical documentation.


• Supporting the continuous development of SHC Engineering's expanding product range.

We're Looking For Someone Who

• Has experience using professional CAD software (SolidWorks preferred, although equivalent experience will be considered).


• Has a strong understanding of mechanical design and manufacturing processes.


• Can produce accurate engineering drawings and technical documentation.


• Has excellent attention to detail and problem\-solving skills.


• Works well independently and as part of a collaborative team.


• Has a genuine passion for automotive engineering, fabrication, or vehicle design.


• Can manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.

Desirable Skills

• Experience designing sheet metal, fabricated, or CNC\-machined components.


• Knowledge of automotive engineering or vehicle conversions.


• Experience with product development and prototyping.


• Understanding of manufacturing techniques including welding, machining, and fabrication.


• An interest in Volkswagen vehicles or campervan conversions.
