ROLE SUMMARY
The Business Support Manager is responsible for the smooth running of administrative and support functions at the Huddersfield site. The role encompasses procurement and purchase order management, petty cash administration, supplier onboarding and management, invoice processing, documentation and record keeping, and the wider day\-to\-day office support needs of the business.
The role requires a proactive, highly organised individual with strong attention to detail, a practical approach to problem\-solving, and the ability to manage multiple workstreams simultaneously with minimal supervision.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage the smooth day\-to\-day running of administrative and support functions at the Huddersfield site
- Raise Purchase Orders for all site expenditure, obtaining the required approvals and maintaining the PO log against corresponding invoices
- Manage procurement of office consumables, cleaning materials, stationery and site sundries, sourcing competitive quotes for ad hoc requirements
- Onboard new suppliers and maintain an accurate, up\-to\-date supplier directory, acting as the main point of contact for day\-to\-day supplier queries
- Process and log operational invoices — checking for accuracy, matching to Purchase Orders and escalating discrepancies before payment approval
- Maintain petty cash for the site, reconciling the float and submitting monthly claims with supporting receipts
- Maintain accurate electronic and physical records and filing systems, ensuring compliance documentation is tracked and renewed on time
- Sign off and update orders on Waste Logics, where required reconciling against the material tracking logs
- Support the operations and compliance teams with data entry, report extraction and system maintenance
- Manage the general upkeep and organisation of the site office, maintaining a professional and well\-functioning environment
- Provide administrative support for internal meetings, including preparing agendas and distributing minutes and action notes
- Support new starter onboarding administration alongside HR, coordinating induction materials, equipment and access
- Provide responsive, reliable day\-to\-day administrative support to the Head of Operations and Senior Leadership Team
- Manage incoming and outgoing post and correspondence, and handle ad hoc administrative tasks and projects as directed
- Proven experience in an administrative, office management or business support role
- Highly organised, with excellent attention to detail and a methodical approach to record\-keeping
- Confident managing procurement, purchase orders and supplier relationships
- Comfortable working across systems (e.g. Waste Logics, SharePoint) and collaborating with Finance, Operations and Compliance teams
- A proactive, practical problem\-solver, able to manage multiple workstreams simultaneously with minimal supervision
- A clear communicator, able to provide reliable, responsive support to the Senior Leadership Team
- Competitive salary of £30,000 \- £35,000 DOE
