Job Summary

As Business Support Administrator, you will support the smooth running of the organisation by providing administrative, financial and practical support across the service. You will help maintain accurate records and assist in supporting young people.

This role would suit someone who is organised, approachable, confident with paperwork and IT systems, and able to communicate well with young people, staff, professionals and external agencies.

Responsibilities:

  • Providing general administrative support to managers and staff.

  • Supporting young people through a scheduled drop\-in service, helping with forms, appointments, letters, emails and general queries.

  • Assisting young people with Universal Credit and Housing Benefit claims, including gathering information, completing forms and supporting follow\-up actions.

  • Liaising with local authorities, benefit departments, landlords, professionals and other agencies where required.

  • Supporting project management with the Life Skills and Jobs Programmes.

  • Supporting recruitment, onboarding and training administration.

  • Assisting with audits, monitoring and compliance checks.

  • Handling emails, phone calls and enquiries in a professional manner.

  • Ensuring confidential information is handled appropriately and in line with data protection requirements.

  • Supporting the wider team to ensure the office and service run efficiently in line with the Ofsted Supported Accommodation Regulations 2023 requirements.
Essential Requirements
  • Previous experience in an administrative or support role.

  • Good IT skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel and email.

  • Good written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to maintain accurate records.

  • Ability to handle confidential information appropriately.

  • Good level of English and Maths.

  • Willingness to complete relevant training.

  • This role is subject to a satisfactory Enhanced DBS Check and references as part of our Safer Recruitment process.

  • UK Driving Licence.
Desirable
  • Experience supporting benefit claims, especially Universal Credit or Housing Benefit.

  • Experience working with young people, care leavers, vulnerable adults or supported accommodation services.

  • Knowledge of safeguarding, confidentiality and data protection.

  • Experience organising rotas, programmes or appointments.

  • Experience using digital care, housing, HR or finance systems.
