Business Development Manager (Legal)

I'm recruiting a Business Development Manager for a leading global offshore law firm, on a fixed\-term contract of just under a year. It's a London based role covering the firm's EMEA offices across Europe, the Channel Islands and the Middle East, with one BD Coordinator reporting to you and a line into the global marketing and BD lead.

It's a fixed\-term role, so the ask is realistic: you won't be reshaping strategy or BD plans from scratch. That said, strong experience in those areas, and a track record of delivering against them, is what will set you apart.

Day to day responsibilities:

• Managing RFP and panel submissions, from content and document prep through to follow\-up


• Running the directory submissions process for your offices and practice areas


• Handling award submissions for your practice areas, alongside marketing


• Managing signature events, sponsorships and conferences from start to finish


• Developing practice and office overviews and keeping the master versions current for clients


• Providing input on comms: mailshots, website content, newsletters, blogs and presentations


• Identifying and promoting cross\-selling opportunities across practices and jurisdictions


• Researching key clients and target markets to brief partners on the opportunities


• Assisting lawyers with client presentations, from content and rehearsal to production and follow\-up


• Championing use of the firm's CRM and coaching the lawyers on it

Experience sought:

• At least 5 years' business development and marketing experience, with law firm experience strongly preferred


• Able to work independently and to deadlines with little supervision


• Strong attention to detail


• Strong writing skills


• Previous managerial experience beneficial


• A degree in marketing, communications or a related field desirable
