Join Inspired Projects and Help Shape Our Next Chapter

Inspired Projects is a specialist provider of furnishing, fit\-out and project delivery solutions across the construction and property sectors. Over the last decade, we have established ourselves as one of the UK's leading partners within the Purpose\-Built Student Accommodation (PBSA) market, delivering high\-quality projects for developers, operators and universities nationwide.

Now we're ready for the next stage of our growth.

We're looking for an experienced Business Development Manager who understands the construction and fit out industry and has the vision, drive and contacts to help us expand beyond our established markets. This is a unique opportunity to play a pivotal role in shaping the future of a rapidly growing business, opening new sectors and building lasting client relationships.

This isn't a corporate sales role with layers of management and bureaucracy. We're looking for someone who thrives on autonomy, enjoys building genuine relationships and wants the opportunity to make a significant commercial impact.

The Role

Reporting directly to the Director, you will be responsible for identifying and securing new business opportunities across the construction and fit out sector, with a particular focus on developing markets beyond our existing PBSA portfolio.

You will develop strategic relationships with developers, contractors, consultants, architects, local authorities, housing providers, Build\-to\-Rent operators, healthcare organisations, commercial property owners and other sectors where Inspired Projects' expertise can add value.

This role involves extensive travel throughout the UK, regular client meetings and networking events, whilst maintaining close collaboration with our head office team in Manchester.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a strategic business development plan to diversify Inspired Projects into new sectors.

  • Identify, qualify and secure new commercial opportunities across the construction industry.

  • Build strong relationships with developers, contractors, architects, consultants, asset managers and key decision\-makers.

  • Generate and manage a healthy pipeline of opportunities from initial contact through to contract award.

  • Lead client presentations, commercial negotiations and contract discussions.

  • Monitor market trends, identify emerging sectors and recommend new growth opportunities.

  • Work closely with estimating, design and project delivery teams to produce winning proposals.

  • Attend exhibitions, networking events and industry conferences to raise the profile of Inspired Projects.

  • Maintain accurate CRM records and sales forecasts.

  • Represent the company professionally whilst maintaining our reputation for exceptional customer service and long\-term partnerships.
About You

We're looking for someone who combines strategic thinking with a hands\-on approach.

You'll be comfortable opening doors, building relationships from scratch and identifying opportunities others may overlook. You'll also appreciate that our success has been built on trust, quality and delivering what we promise.

Essential Experience

  • Proven business development experience within the UK construction industry.

  • Demonstrable track record of generating new business and winning profitable contracts.

  • Experience selling into construction, fit\-out, interiors, manufacturing, building products or related sectors.

  • Strong commercial awareness and excellent negotiation skills.

  • Ability to develop long\-term client relationships.

  • Full UK Driving Licence.

  • Willingness to travel extensively across the UK.
We'd Particularly Love to Meet Someone Who
  • Has an established network of contacts outside the PBSA sector.

  • Can introduce Inspired Projects to entirely new markets and clients.

  • Enjoys working independently whilst remaining part of a close\-knit team.

  • Is entrepreneurial and excited by helping shape the future direction of a growing business.
What We Offer
  • £65,000 annual salary

  • Uncapped commission structure

  • Company car or car allowance

  • Flexible working hours

  • Hybrid working with home working supported

  • All business travel, accommodation and associated expenses paid

  • A significant client entertainment budget and access to our platinum corporate box at Manchester City

  • Genuine autonomy with the opportunity to influence business strategy

  • Direct access to senior leadership and decision\-making

  • Career progression within a rapidly growing business

  • Company pension

  • Ongoing professional development
