An exciting opportunity has arisen for an ambitious and commercially driven Business Development Manager to join a well\-established UK engineering and technology business.

Operating for more than 35 years, the company has built a strong reputation for delivering innovative technical solutions to customers across multiple sectors. Following several consecutive years of growth and continued investment in new products and services, the business is now looking to expand its commercial team.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated sales professional who enjoys developing new business, building customer relationships and managing their own territory with a high degree of autonomy.

The Role

This is a field\-based sales role focused on both new business development and account growth.

You'll spend the majority of your time meeting customers, identifying opportunities, conducting site visits and building long\-term commercial relationships.

Working closely with technical colleagues, you'll help customers solve real\-world challenges through innovative products and solutions.

You'll have the freedom to manage your own territory, organise your own diary and develop opportunities across a wide range of industries.

Key Responsibilities

\- Generate new business opportunities and develop a strong sales pipeline

\- Identify, qualify and convert new sales opportunities

\- Grow revenue within existing customer accounts

\- Build long\-term relationships with customers and key decision\-makers

\- Conduct customer meetings, site visits and product demonstrations

\- Prepare quotations, proposals and commercial recommendations

\- Promote new products and solutions to market

\- Attend industry exhibitions, trade shows and networking events

\- Maintain accurate pipeline and sales activity records

\- Work collaboratively with technical and operational teams to deliver excellent customer outcomes

What We're Looking For

\- Essential

\- Proven field sales experience

\- Experience generating new business opportunities

\- Experience managing and growing customer accounts

\- Strong relationship\-building and communication skills

\- Self\-motivated and commercially focused

\- Ability to work independently and manage a territory effectively

\- Full UK driving licence

\- Willingness to travel throughout the UK

\- Desirable

\- Experience selling technical, engineering, industrial or technology\-based products or services

\- Exposure to manufacturing, engineering, facilities management, utilities or related sectors

\- Technical aptitude and willingness to learn

\- Experience within a consultative sales environment

\- Develop a strong understanding of the products and market

\- Generate customer enquiries and qualified opportunities

\- Build a healthy sales pipeline

\- Establish yourself as a trusted representative of the business

Location

Field\-based role covering the UK, with attendance at the West Yorkshire office approximately one day per week.
