Are you a Business Development Manager with a track record of winning new business from a standing start? We have an exciting Business Development Manager opportunity in a growing education services business!

Location: Battersea

Salary: £50,000 + Uncapped Commission

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

About Us:

We provide tailored education support to children and young people, working alongside families, schools and local authorities. Every solution is built around the individual learner rather than a standard package. We are ambitious for our next stage of growth and want the commercial capability to match.

Business Development Manager - The Role:

We are seeking an entrepreneurial Business Development Manager to take ownership of new business generation. Reporting directly to the CEO, you will run the entire sales cycle, from identifying targets and generating your own leads through to presenting our proposition, negotiating and closing.

This is not an account management role. No pipeline of pre-qualified leads will arrive in your inbox. You will have considerable autonomy to shape the sales approach, with genuine potential to build a wider sales function as new business grows.

Business Development Manager - Key Responsibilities:

  • Take ownership of new business generation and deliver agreed revenue targets

  • Identify and prioritise target clients and markets with the greatest growth potential

  • Generate your own leads through direct outreach, networking, referrals and research

  • Manage the complete sales cycle, building relationships with senior decision-makers, delivering tailored proposals and negotiating terms on a commercially sustainable basis

  • Maintain a measurable pipeline with accurate records of activity, opportunity value and expected conversion

  • Stay involved through the early stages of each new relationship, working with operational colleagues on a clean handover

  • Work with the CEO to shape a scalable approach to business development, feeding back market and competitor insight
Business Development Manager - You:
  • Demonstrable track record of B2B new business development, with clear evidence of personally generating and closing business

  • A genuine hunter mentality, with the resilience to make first approaches and create opportunities from scratch

  • Experience of owning the complete sales cycle rather than working from inbound or pre-qualified leads

  • Proven ability to engage senior decision-makers and understand what their organisation needs

  • Strong commercial awareness with the ability to negotiate and close effectively

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, disciplined on pipeline management and follow-up

  • Experience within education, children’s services or selling to schools and local authorities is strongly preferred

  • An existing network within the sector, or experience of selling a consultative service in an SME environment, is a distinct advantage
Benefits:
  • Competitive salary package

  • Uncapped commission

  • Generous annual leave
We are an equal opportunities employer and welcome applications from all backgrounds. Please let us know if you require any reasonable adjustments during the recruitment process.
