The Role

We are seeking an enthusiastic and commercially driven Business Development Manager in Soil \& Water to drive sales growth across the UK and Ireland.

This is a field\-based, customer\-facing role responsible for developing new business opportunities, managing key customer relationships, and providing technical sales support for our range of soil and water monitoring products. The successful candidate will combine strong commercial awareness with technical knowledge to deliver solutions that meet customer needs while achieving business growth objectives.

Regular travel throughout the UK and Ireland, including overnight stays, will be required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify, develop, and secure new business opportunities across the UK and Ireland.

  • Manage the full sales cycle from initial enquiry through to quotation, negotiation, and order completion.

  • Build, maintain, and strengthen long\-term relationships with new and existing customers through regular site visits and ongoing communication.

  • Develop and manage strategic key accounts to maximise customer value and long\-term business growth.

  • Deliver technical product demonstrations, customer presentations, and on\-site training.

  • Maintain accurate customer records, sales opportunities, and activity within the company's CRM and business systems.

  • Plan, organise, and represent the company at exhibitions, trade shows, conferences, and industry events.

  • Support marketing initiatives by contributing to webinars, promotional videos, product launches, and technical content.

  • Monitor competitor activity, industry trends, and market developments, providing regular feedback to the management team.

  • Cooperate with colleagues across sales, technical support, and marketing to ensure an excellent customer experience.
Skills \& Experience

Essential

  • Proven experience in business development or technical sales.

  • Experience generating new business while developing long\-term customer relationships.

  • Strong presentation and communication skills with the ability to engage customers at all levels.

  • Experience using Microsoft Office and CRM systems.

  • Full UK driving licence.

  • Willingness to travel extensively throughout the UK and Ireland, including overnight stays.
Desirable
  • Experience with soil and water monitoring equipment or instrumentation used in geotechnical or environmental investigations.

  • Experience supporting exhibitions, conferences, or industry events.

  • Demonstrated success in achieving or exceeding sales targets.

Job Details

Job Type: Full\-time, Permanent

Location: Hybrid – based between our Kidderminster office, home working, and travel throughout the UK and Ireland, including overnight stays.

Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 40 Hours per week.

Work Authorisation: Applicants must be authorised to work in the United Kingdom.

Pay: £35,000\.00\-£45,000\.00 per year
