About EcoScent
EcoScent is a growing scent marketing and fragrance business helping organisations transform spaces through scent.
We work across hospitality, retail, property, leisure, offices and other commercial environments, delivering everything from individual scenting installations to multi\-site rollouts, bespoke fragrance development and private label products.
As we continue to grow, we’re looking for an experienced B2B Business Development Manager who can win new business and develop long\-term commercial relationships.
The Role
This is a hands\-on B2B sales role combining new business development with account growth.
You’ll receive inbound opportunities but this is not a purely inbound sales position. We’re looking for someone who is confident creating opportunities themselves through prospecting, networking, referrals and proactive business development.
You’ll manage opportunities from first conversation through to conversion, taking time to understand what the client is trying to achieve and developing the right commercial solution.
Projects vary considerably, from individual commercial installations to larger multi\-site rollouts, bespoke fragrance projects and private label opportunities.
Once a client is won, you’ll retain commercial ownership of the relationship, identifying opportunities for additional locations, products and services.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Developing and converting new B2B opportunities
- Proactively generating your own new business pipeline
- Responding to and converting qualified inbound enquiries
- Identifying and approaching prospective clients and decision\-makers
- Meeting clients and understanding their commercial requirements
- Preparing and presenting proposals and quotations
- Negotiating and closing opportunities within agreed commercial parameters
- Managing opportunities from individual projects to larger multi\-site and bespoke requirements
- Developing your own portfolio of client accounts
- Identifying renewals, additional locations, upselling and cross\-selling opportunities
- Maintaining an accurate CRM and active sales pipeline
- Providing reliable forecasts, next actions and expected close dates
- Working closely with Operations, Projects, Marketing and other teams to ensure what is sold can be delivered
- Providing clear and accurate handovers following conversion
- Achieving agreed monthly and annual sales targets
You’ll already have demonstrable B2B sales or business development experience and a track record of personally developing and closing new business.
You should be comfortable picking up the phone, opening doors and creating opportunities rather than relying solely on inbound leads.
You’ll also need:
- Strong consultative selling and questioning skills
- Confidence communicating with decision\-makers at different levels
- Strong commercial awareness and negotiation skills
- Experience managing a sales pipeline and CRM
- Excellent follow\-up and organisational skills
- A track record of working to individual sales targets and KPIs
- Strong written and face\-to\-face communication
- The ability to take ownership and work independently
- Good judgement around commercial commitments and client expectations
- A collaborative approach when working with operational and project teams
Experience selling recurring\-revenue services, multi\-site solutions or project\-led services would also be advantageous.
The Person
We’re looking for someone with genuine commercial drive who enjoys finding opportunities and closing business.
You’ll be proactive, organised and accountable for your own results. You should know what is happening across your pipeline, what needs to happen next and where you need support.
At the same time, we’re not looking for sales at any cost. Strong client relationships, accurate communication and ensuring commitments can be delivered are equally important.
Working at EcoScent
We’re a growing business with a close\-knit team and a collaborative way of working.
People are trusted to take ownership, make decisions and bring forward ideas. Standards are high and accountability matters but so do personality, humour and being a positive part of the wider team.
As EcoScent grows, there is genuine opportunity to develop your responsibilities and influence how we approach new business and account growth.
