About Synergize

Synergize is one of the UK's leading specialists in refurbishment, planned maintenance and building remediation, delivering high\-quality projects across both the public and private sectors. Since 2004, we've built our reputation on delivering complex programmes safely, efficiently and to the highest standards — with expertise spanning planned maintenance, refurbishment, external wall remediation and energy efficiency improvements.

Today, Synergize forms part of Grosvenor House Group (GHG) \- a growing national group bringing together specialist businesses across facilities management, refurbishment, passive fire protection and property services. Being part of GHG means combining the agility and close\-knit culture of a specialist contractor with the stability, investment and long\-term opportunities of a larger organisation delivering projects across the UK.

As our business continues to grow, we're looking for talented people who want to make a genuine impact, help shape the future of the business, and develop their careers within an ambitious and expanding group.

About the Role

As Business Development Manager, you will play a key role in driving growth across SynZero and SynFurb, focusing on developing new relationships with Housing Associations, Local Authorities, public sector organisations and strategic framework partners.

Synergize is already positioned strongly within the market, including being a leading provider on key frameworks such as LHC. However, we are looking for someone who can proactively engage with clients, build relationships and ensure Synergize is front of mind when opportunities arise.

This is a proactive, relationship\-led business development role, requiring someone who is comfortable opening doors, generating conversations and converting opportunities into secured work.

You will be responsible for developing a sustainable pipeline of opportunities, nurturing existing relationships and helping each division achieve ambitious growth targets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a business development strategy across SynZero and SynFurb.

  • Build strong relationships with Housing Associations, Local Authorities, developers and public sector stakeholders.

  • Identify and secure new opportunities through proactive engagement, networking and market intelligence.

  • Generate new leads through cold calling, relationship building and targeted outreach.

  • Increase Synergize’s visibility across key frameworks and ensure we are actively considered for upcoming projects.

  • Develop long\-term client partnerships rather than focusing solely on transactional sales.

  • Work closely with operational teams to understand capability, market opportunities and client requirements.

  • Maintain accurate pipeline reporting and provide regular updates on business development activity.

  • Attend industry events, client meetings and networking opportunities to represent Synergize.
About SynZero

SynZero specialises in delivering solutions that support the UK’s transition towards net zero, including renewable energy, retrofit and energy efficiency programmes.

With the government’s commitment to improving the energy performance of housing stock and bringing properties up to EPC C standards, the decarbonisation market represents a significant long\-term growth opportunity.

About SynFurb

SynFurb delivers complex refurbishment and building safety remediation projects, supporting clients with compliance\-driven works following changes to building regulations.

The division works across areas including cladding remediation, fire safety improvements and high\-rise building remediation programmes.

About You

We are looking for a commercially driven Business Development professional who thrives on creating opportunities and building relationships from the ground up.

You will ideally have experience within the decarbonisation, retrofit, refurbishment, building safety or social housing sectors, with an understanding of the challenges and opportunities facing Housing Associations and Local Authorities.

You will be confident engaging with senior stakeholders, comfortable with proactive outreach and have a proven ability to turn conversations into commercial opportunities.

You will have:

  • Proven experience in a Business Development role within construction, refurbishment, FM, retrofit, decarbonisation or a related sector.

  • Existing relationships with Housing Associations, Local Authorities or public sector clients (highly desirable).

  • Experience working with frameworks and understanding how to maximise their value.

  • A proactive, self\-starting approach with the ability to open new conversations.

  • Strong communication, influencing and negotiation skills.

  • The ability to work independently while collaborating with operational teams.
Why Join Synergize?

In return, you'll benefit from:

  • A senior role with genuine autonomy and commercial influence
