CLR Group – Arclid, SandbachField\-based across the North West, Staffordshire and North WalesFull\-time, permanentSalary, bonus and vehicle package tailored to the successful candidate

THE ROLE

CLR Group is looking for someone who can bring new customers into the business, secure individual sites and projects with them, and remain their main point of contact throughout delivery.

This isn’t a standard sales role where you win an order and pass it over to somebody else.

You will take ownership of the relationship from the first introduction—visiting sites, understanding the requirement, helping us price and secure the work, and then working with our operational team to ensure we deliver what was promised.

You’ll have the full support of our directors, transport planners and accounts team. We’ll support you with pricing, planning and delivery, but you’ll remain responsible for looking after the customer, resolving issues and developing further opportunities with them.

ABOUT CLR GROUP

CLR Group provides earthworks, muck away, aggregate supply, remediation, plant and tipper haulage services to housebuilders, groundworkers, developers and civil\-engineering contractors.

Our operation is backed by more than 30 eight\-wheel tippers, along with excavators, dozers, road sweepers and low\-loaders. This allows us to offer a complete service—from loading, haulage and disposal through to aggregate supply and wider site support.

We already work with a growing number of major housebuilders and contractors across the region. We’re now looking for the right person to help us develop new relationships, win more work and turn new customers into long\-term accounts.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

  • Identifying and approaching new customers and projects

  • Building relationships with housebuilders, groundworkers, developers and civil\-engineering contractors

  • Generating opportunities across muck away, aggregates, haulage, remediation and earthworks

  • Attending meetings and visiting potential sites

  • Understanding site requirements, quantities, programmes, access and material types

  • Working directly with the directors and operations team to prepare quotations

  • Following up enquiries and turning opportunities into profitable secured work

  • Acting as the customer’s main point of contact once a project begins

  • Coordinating internally to make sure work is delivered properly

  • Resolving queries or site issues quickly and professionally

  • Developing existing accounts and securing further sites with those customers

  • Maintaining a strong pipeline of future opportunities
WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR

We understand that the right person could come from several different backgrounds.

You may already be an established Business Development Manager, Contracts Manager, Commercial Manager or Sales Director with strong industry relationships and a proven record of securing substantial contracts. If you have valuable contacts and can demonstrate the work you could bring to CLR Group, we’re prepared to structure a genuinely senior package around you.

Alternatively, you may be earlier in your career or new to this particular sector, but have the confidence, hunger, commercial instinct and personality to become highly successful. If we get the right impression and believe you have the ability, we are prepared to invest time in supporting and developing you.

Experience within construction, earthworks, aggregates, waste, haulage or civil engineering would be a major advantage, but it won’t be the only factor in our decision.

More importantly, you will be:

  • Naturally good at building genuine relationships

  • Equally comfortable in boots on a construction site or meeting a commercial director

  • Confident dealing with site managers, buyers, quantity surveyors and directors

  • Commercially aware and comfortable discussing rates and project requirements

  • Proactive, organised and persistent

  • Straightforward, reliable and accountable

  • Able to follow through on promises and take ownership of problems

  • Motivated by winning profitable work and developing long\-term accounts

  • Comfortable working independently while remaining part of a wider team

  • In possession of a full UK driving licence
WHAT WE OFFER
  • A salary package shaped around your experience, contacts and proven ability

  • A meaningful performance\-related bonus or commission structure

  • A company vehicle or vehicle allowance appropriate to the role and candidate

  • Direct access to the directors and quick commercial decision\-making

  • Full support with pricing, transport planning, accounts and project delivery

  • The operational backing of our fleet, plant, disposal network and aggregate suppliers

  • Freedom and trust to develop your own customers and opportunities

  • Genuine influence over the future growth of CLR Group

  • Significant long\-term earning and progression potential
We aren’t looking for a stereotypical salesperson who disappears once the order has been placed.

We want someone who can open doors, build trust, secure profitable work and remain accountable to the customer until the job has been successfully delivered.

The final salary, bonus and vehicle package will depend entirely on the individual appointed and the value they can bring to the business.

To apply, please send your CV together with a short introduction explaining your relevant experience, any existing industry relationships and what you believe you could bring to CLR Group.

All applications and initial conversations will be treated in strict confidence.
