Business Controller, Supply Chain Finance
Overview:
As Manager, Supply Chain Finance – Transportation, you will play a critical role in shaping the financial performance of our EMEA Transportation Operations.
You will be the finance partner for both Brick \& Mortar and Direct‑to‑Consumer distribution, translating complex operational activity into clear financial insight.
In this role, you’ll own forecasting, budgeting, and month‑end close for Transportation, while working side‑by‑side with operational leaders to drive cost transparency,
identify opportunities, and influence decisions that directly impact service, efficiency, and profitability.
Responsibilities:
Own financial performance for EMEA Transportation
- Lead the weekly forecast and month‑end close for Transportation, ensuring accurate, timely, and actionable reporting for leadership.
- Prepare and explain performance vs. budget, prior year, and latest outlook—turning numbers into clear business stories.
- Partner closely with Transportation leaders to translate operational plans into financial targets and actions.
- Challenge assumptions, highlight risks and opportunities, and provide recommendations that influence day‑to‑day and long‑term decisions.
- Act as the go‑to finance expert for Transportation initiatives, cost drivers, and trade‑offs.
- Build and deliver deep‑dive financial analyses to assess profitability, cost drivers, risk, and impact of operational changes.
- Use business intelligence and reporting (Excel, Power BI) to surface trends, identify opportunities, and support performance improvement.
- Present insights and recommendations clearly to Supply Chain and Finance leadership.
- Co‑develop the annual expense budget for Transportation together with Operations.
- Set targets, monitor performance, and proactively explain and close gaps vs. budget, prior year, and forecasts.
- Own close activities, reconciliations, and complex journal entries for Transportation.
- Maintain internal control documentation and ensure compliance with SOX requirements.
- Contribute to a clean audit record through disciplined processes and documentation.
- Support management on ad‑hoc analyses, strategic projects, and improvement initiatives across the Supply Chain Finance organization.
Education \& Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field
- 4–6 years of relevant experience, ideally in Finance, Supply Chain, Logistics, or Operations‑related environments
- Supply Chain or Transportation experience is a strong plus
- Advanced Excel skills (forecasting models, scenario analysis, large data sets)
- Strong Microsoft Office skills; Power BI experience is a plus
- Solid understanding of General Ledger, forecasting, and budgeting processes
- Strong analytical mindset with the ability to turn data into practical recommendations
- Confident communicator, able to influence stakeholders at different levels
- High level of ownership, accuracy, and attention to detail
- Critical thinker who thrives in complex, fast‑moving environments
- Fluent in English (written, verbal, and presentation)
