About the role Lead a specialist High Net Worth insurance branch in one of the UK's strongest private client markets.

We're looking for an inspiring and commercially minded Branch Manager to lead our specialist High Net Worth (HNW) insurance operation in Cobham. This is an opportunity to shape a high-performing branch, deliver sustained and profitable growth, and ensure every customer receives a personal, attentive and expert service.

You'll combine confident people leadership with a strong sales focus and a passion for outstanding customer outcomes. Working with an experienced team, you'll build capability, strengthen relationships with customers and introducers, and grow our presence across Surrey, London and the surrounding HNW market.

About the Role

As Branch Manager, you'll take ownership of the branch's people, sales, service and operational performance. You'll set a clear direction, translate business ambitions into practical plans and create an inclusive, energetic environment where colleagues can perform at their best.

What you'll be doing

  • Lead, coach and develop a specialist team, setting clear expectations and building capability through regular feedback and support.

  • Own the branch business plan, sales strategy and performance objectives, using data and market insight to drive profitable growth.

  • Create a strong new-business culture, maintaining disciplined pipelines and improving lead generation, conversion and retention.

  • Build trusted relationships with HNW customers, professional introducers and local networks, representing the branch confidently in the market.

  • Champion outstanding customer service, ensuring complex needs are understood and customers receive a responsive, tailored and consistent experience.

  • Oversee branch operations, financial performance, risk controls and regulatory compliance.

  • Work collaboratively with underwriting, claims, marketing and other internal specialists to deliver the right outcomes for customers.

  • Promote continuous improvement, identifying opportunities to simplify processes, strengthen service and increase team productivity.

This role falls under Insurance Distribution Directive requirements, and as a result, role holders will be required to demonstrate ongoing Continuous Professional Development in role, along with undergoing regular re-screening to show that they are of "Good Repute". Further information can be found in the FCA Handbook.

About you You'll be a credible, hands-on leader who can balance commercial ambition with excellent customer outcomes. You'll know how to motivate a team, develop relationships and turn opportunity into sustainable results.

Essential experience and skills

  • Proven experience of leading, coaching and developing a team in a sales and customer service environment.

  • A strong record of delivering sales growth and achieving stretching commercial targets.

  • Significant customer service experience, including handling complex or sensitive customer needs and resolving issues effectively.

  • Experience in High Net Worth, private client or specialist personal lines insurance.

  • Strong relationship-management and influencing skills, with the confidence to engage customers, introducers and senior stakeholders.

  • Commercial and financial acumen, including the ability to interpret performance information and make sound decisions.

  • A clear understanding of regulated insurance environments, conduct risk and the importance of fair customer outcomes.

  • Excellent communication, organisation and problem-solving skills.

Desirable
  • Knowledge of HNW homes, fine art, jewellery, prestige motor and other private client risks.

  • CII qualifications or progress towards Dip CII/ACII.

  • A full UK driving licence.

What we Offer
  • A high-profile leadership role in a specialist and strategically important growth market.

  • The opportunity to lead an established team and shape the future of the Cobham branch.

  • Support from experienced insurance, underwriting, claims and marketing colleagues.

  • A collaborative working environment with hybrid working available.

  • A competitive salary and benefits package, dependent on experience.
