Love What You Do.Are you looking for more than just another Teaching Assistant job?Do you want to be part of a school where every small achievement is celebrated, every day is different, and the impact you make genuinely changes a young person's future?Hays Education is working in partnership with a highly respected specialist school in the Bilston area that is seeking passionate, resilient, and caring Teaching Assistants, Learning Support Assistants and SEN Support Workers to join their team from September.This is an opportunity to work in a specialist setting supporting pupils with a range of additional needs, helping them develop academically, socially, emotionally, and independently.About the SchoolThis is a well-established specialist school catering for children and young people aged 5-19 with complex Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).You will be supporting pupils with: Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD) Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD) Complex Communication Needs Speech and Language Difficulties Sensory Processing Differences Social, Emotional and Mental Health Needs (SEMH) Behaviour that challenges due to communication frustrations and unmet needsMany pupils communicate in different ways and require patient, consistent adults who can help them regulate emotions, engage in learning, and develop confidence and independence.Every student follows an individualised curriculum designed around their needs, interests, and aspirations.What Will Your Day Look Like?No two days are ever the same.As a Teaching Assistant, you'll become a key part of the student's journey by helping them overcome barriers to learning and achieve goals many people thought weren't possible.Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing 1:1 and small-group support throughout the school day.
- Supporting pupils during lessons, educational visits, and enrichment activities.
- Helping students develop social interaction, communication, and independence skills.
- Encouraging positive behaviour and emotional regulation.
- Assisting with sensory-based learning and therapeutic activities.
- Supporting literacy, numeracy, and life-skills programmes.
- Building positive and trusting relationships with pupils.
- Working collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and support staff.
- Recording progress and contributing to pupil reviews.
- Helping create a safe, engaging, and inclusive learning environment.
