Watkin Jones is looking for an ambitious and commercially astute Bid Manager to join us in a new role created as part of our strategic growth plans. This is a unique opportunity to learn and develop in the role to take ownership of a new function, shape how we approach bids and partnerships, and play a pivotal role in driving the next phase of growth across our new build residential and refurbishment portfolio.
This is a high\-impact position at the heart of our business, where you'll lead the pursuit, development and conversion of exciting new opportunities. From identifying prospects through to submission, negotiation and securing new development partnerships, you'll have the autonomy to influence strategy and make a tangible impact from day one.
As the role evolves, for the right individual, there is a progression pathway into a leadership position, with the opportunity to build, develop and lead a team as the function grows.
Working closely with Registered Providers, local authorities and development partners, you'll coordinate multi\-disciplinary teams across land, development, technical, commercial and construction functions to deliver winning bids that are commercially robust, technically compelling and delivered on time.
What you'll bring
- Proven experience managing bids and tenders within residential development
- Knowledge of affordable housing, PBSA, Build\-to\-Rent (BTR) and Single Family Housing (SFH)
- Experience supporting refurbishment, regeneration and planned works programmes
- Strong commercial awareness, including development appraisals, GDV and cost planning
- Outstanding stakeholder management and communication skills
- The ability to manage multiple live opportunities in a fast\-paced environment
You'll ideally hold a degree in Construction, Quantity Surveying, Real Estate or a related discipline, with membership of (or progression towards) a professional body such as RICS or CIOB. You'll also bring a strong understanding of modern procurement routes, development partnerships and current trends within the residential sector.
