Behaviour Mentor
- Location: Birmingham
- Pay Rate: £110 - £120 per day
- Start Date: September Start
- Days: Monday to Friday (Term Time Only)
- Hours: 8:30am - 3:30pm
- Contract: Long-Term with Potential Permanent Opportunity
The successful candidate will become part of a strong pastoral and SEN team, providing both 1:1 mentoring and small group interventions for pupils with SEMH needs. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who can build positive relationships, act as a role model and help pupils develop the skills they need to succeed both in and out of the classroom.
The Role
- Provide targeted 1:1 support for pupils with SEMH and behavioural needs
- Deliver small group interventions focusing on emotional wellbeing, social skills and self-regulation
- Support pupils in managing their emotions and behaviours positively
- Help pupils overcome barriers to learning and improve classroom engagement
- Use restorative and trauma-informed approaches to support behaviour
- Work collaboratively with teachers, the SENCO and pastoral staff to implement support plans
- Previous experience supporting SEMH or behavioural needs within a primary school setting
- Level 3 Qualification or equivalent
- Strong understanding of behaviour management strategies and emotional regulation techniques
- Experience delivering 1:1 mentoring or intervention programmes
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
