This rewarding role offers invaluable experience supporting children and young people with social, emotional, behavioural, and learning needs while helping you build a strong foundation for future careers in psychology, education, counselling, or social care.

About the Role As a Behaviour & Learning Mentor, you will work closely with teachers, SEN staff, pastoral teams, and families to provide targeted support for pupils both inside and outside the classroom. You will play a key role in helping students develop confidence, resilience, emotional regulation, and positive learning behaviours.

Key Responsibilities • Provide 1:1 and small-group support for students with emotional, behavioural, or additional learning needs
  • Support the implementation of behaviour and wellbeing strategies

  • Encourage positive engagement, focus, motivation, and emotional regulation

  • Build strong, supportive relationships with pupils to promote confidence and progress

  • Help create a safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment

  • Work collaboratively with teaching staff, SEN teams, and parents/carers to support pupil development

What We’re Looking For • A Psychology degree or currently studying Psychology (or a related subject)
  • A genuine interest in child development, mental health, behaviour, or education

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Patient, adaptable, reliable, and empathetic individuals

  • Previous experience working with children or young people is desirable but not essential

  • Full training and ongoing support provided
