JOB DESCRIPTION
Position: Bar Team Leader
Department: Food \& Beverage
Reports to: Restaurant Manager/Bar Supervisor
Main objectives:
1\. To assist with Controlling wet GP’s through stock control, the cleanliness and organisation of the bars, staff training and development and product quality.
2\. Direct and motivate the team through clear communication, strong leadership, whilst also leading from the front with a hands\-on approach to bar service.
3\. Ensure that the bar runs smoothly on a day\-to\-day basis and the staff are organised to deliver high quality drinks in a timely manner whilst keeping the bar \& lounge environment clean and tidy.
4\. To undertake stock orders as and when required.
5\. Offer input into the beverage offering, bringing new ideas to the table and understanding market trends alongside the preferences of our guests to ensure the offering is the best it can be.
Working relationships:
- Reports directly to the Restaurant Manager \& Bar supervisor
- Also maintain close working relationships with all Department Managers and other F \& B supervisors.
- You must understand the customer service standards expected and receive the necessary training and support to guarantee these are consistently achieved.
- You must place a high value on cooperation and teamwork within the department and the hotel as a whole.
- Ensure that service in the bar is of the highest quality at all times and is delivered with correct levels of professionalism, a positive attitude and a friendly and personable approach.
- Work with the bars manager to continuously develop all drink menus and bar products to ensure our offering is line with market trends and customer expectations.
- You must take responsibility for your own personal development to ensure that you have the necessary knowledge and skills to perform your role effectively.
- Conduct yourself in a way and to a standard that demonstrates the highest levels of integrity, service standards and cleanliness, thereby acting as an exemplary role model throughout the department and the hotel.
- Assist with Managing waste across all bars, ensure this is recorded in the correct manner and challenge excessive waste.
- Ensure that general enquiries from customers and suppliers are dealt with in a timely and professional manner.
- Ensure that someone is behind the bar at all times and the bar is not left unattended.
- Control and monitor the quality of the products and the service on an on\-going basis.
- Control and monitor the satisfaction of the customers on an on\-going basis. Report any issues to management.
- Maintain the food hygiene standards within the department, on an on\-going basis in line with current Government requirements and good practice guidance. This also includes all aspects of cleanliness so, not only food hygiene cleaning requirements, but general cleaning of bars must be to the high standard expected.
- Ensure that any special requests from the customer are catered for wherever possible.
- Manage your time relevant to your rota.
- Maintain a high standard of personal hygiene.
- Wear the correct uniform.
- Ensure the prep and clear\-down lists for each shift are completed.
- Ensure the cleanliness check list is completed.
- Maintain the bar equipment in a condition to be serviceable and thereby minimising unnecessary expenditure.
- Take an active part in all the operations across the complete range of department activity.
- Ensure that customer complaints are dealt with efficiently or referred to the relevant Department Manager at the earliest opportunity.
- Ensure that all guest accounts are processed accurately and correctly.
- Undertake cashing up of the tills as and when directed by management.
- Ensure that the tills are the correct amounts at all times and that there is enough change for the level of business expected.
- Pass on relevant information at the end of each shift or in the event of any other handover of responsibility.
- Report and log any structural or equipment defects immediately to the maintenance department.
- Attend any courses, training programmes or workshops as required by management.
- Carry out other reasonable duties as required by management.

2\. To be aware of the security of the hotel and the people in it. Be familiar with all emergency procedures and act positively both in the event of an emergency and to prevent one.
3\. To be aware of and ensure that those responsible to you are aware of all legislation that is relevant to your work and ensure that all legal requirements are met including: Licensing; Health and Safety at Work, COSHH, Environmental Health, Fire Precautions and any others.
Pay: £13\.20 per hour
Expected hours: 40\.0 per week
