The Sir Colin Campbell is an independent, modern Irish pub situated at 264–266 Kilburn High Road, operated by descendants of Irish émigrés. A fixture on Kilburn High Road since the late 19th century, the pub occupies a late\-Victorian three\-storey building featuring distinctive inter\-war interior fittings—including a central island bar, original wooden panelling, leaded glass windows, and a cast\-iron fireplace—preserving its historic charm within a contemporary setting.
Our mission is “a little bit of Irish hospitality in the heart of London”, reflecting a forward\-thinking ethos that blends tradition with modern inclusivity. We run weekly events, including a pub quiz every Wednesday evening from 8 pm, and host live traditional Irish music sessions every Saturday and Sunday night, making us one of only a few London venues to feature year\-round “trad” bands.
We take pride in being LGBTQI\+ friendly—“tá fáilte roimh chách" (“all are welcome”)—with a venue designed as a safe, inclusive space for everyone. Our customers range from regular neighbourhood faces to visitors seeking warm hospitality or live music.
Facilities include two main bars, two large screens broadcasting major sporting fixtures (Sky Sports, TNT Sports and the GAA), a Pieminister pie menu exclusive in Kilburn, a pizza offering, and a highly rated 5/5 food hygiene rating from the Food Standards Agency. The upstairs area is available for private hires, meetings, and event viewing. The pub also allows vaping indoors (in support of smoking cessation), operates a CCTV\-monitored, professional environment, and participates in Challenge 25 and the Ask Angela scheme.

Please respond to this advert with a copy of your CV, and ideally a covering letter that gives a little bit of flavour to why you have applied for this role. Once received, it will be reviewed, and we aim to respond in the initial paper sift within 5 (office) working days.
If selected you will then be asked to undertake an initial conversation with the General Manager at the pub itself, because ultimately the two of you will need to get on! Following this, if successful, we would like to invite you for a final interview to both meet in person and familiarise yourself with the pub, the building, how it all works and potentially meet a couple of our regular customers.
Should this be successful, we would make a formal offer.
Note that candidates who apply for the role without experience working in an actual pub, ideally a smaller pub (whether or not owned by a big PubCo such as Stonegate or Greene King), will be rejected. Examples include applicants who only have restaurant experience, worked in hotels or those who only have experience in event spaces \- all of which are not pubs, per se. Any candidates in this catagory will be dismissed out of hand straightaway.
Pay: From £254\.20 per week
Application question(s):
- Having read the job advert thoroughly, have you worked recently in a pub (not a city bar, restaurant, hotel or other retail business you may think is equivalent, but we do not) recently (last 18 months maximum)?
