About Us:
Timperley Social Club is a long\-established, vibrant community hub with over 500 members, offering a function room and sports bar focused on wet sales. Situated on a large, family\-oriented residential estate, we pride ourselves on creating a welcoming atmosphere and providing excellent service to our members. Our club was badly affected by the January 2025 floods and reopened in September following a full refurbishment. We are looking for a dedicated and dynamic individual to step into this key role and continue our success.
Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Bar Manager to oversee all aspects of our bar operations. The successful candidate will work closely with the outgoing Bar Manager to ensure a smooth transition and maintain our high standards of service and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Daily Operations Management:
- Oversee and manage the day\-to\-day operations of the bar, ensuring smooth and efficient service.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and safety in all bar areas.
- Staff Management:
- Recruit, train, and supervise bar staff, ensuring they deliver excellent customer service.
- Schedule staff shifts and manage rotas to ensure adequate coverage during operating hours.
- Foster a positive and motivated work environment.
- Customer Service:
- Engage with members and guests, ensuring they have a positive experience.
- Handle customer inquiries, complaints, and feedback in a professional manner.
- Inventory and Stock Management:
- Monitor inventory levels and order supplies as needed to ensure stock availability.
- Implement effective stock control measures to minimize waste and optimize costs.
- Financial Management:
- Assist in budgeting and financial planning for the bar.
- Monitor and achieve gross profit and overhead targets.
- Implement and manage a performance\-related bonus structure.
- Event Coordination:
- Assist in planning and executing events and functions held at the club.
- Work with the committee to promote and market events to maximize attendance and revenue.
- Policy and Procedure Implementation:
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to maintain high standards of service and safety.
- Ensure compliance with all licensing laws and health and safety regulations.
- Experience:
- Previous experience in the wet sales industry is essential.
- Experience in a supervisory or managerial position is highly desirable.
- Experience in hospitality and customer service (minimum 1 year preferred).
- Skills:
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- In\-depth knowledge of alcoholic beverages, cocktails, and mixology techniques.
- Ability to handle high\-pressure situations and make quick, effective decisions.
- Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to multitask effectively.
- Proficiency in managing inventory, schedules, and budgets.

- Contract Type: Permanent full\-time salaried position.
- Salary: 28k\+ Negotiable for the right candidate, with a performance\-related bonus structure.
- Hours: Expected hours range from 35\-40 per week, with flexibility required for evenings and weekends.
