Bar Manager
The Cotton Works site is the largest brownfield site in the North West under single ownership. The Heaton Group’s master plan will create a new, urban destination neighbourhood for Wigan; a place to live, work, trade, shop, eat and drink.
We’re looking for an energetic and commercially minded Bar Manager to lead the bar operation at FEAST at The Mills. This is a high\-profile, fast\-paced role, perfect for someone who thrives in a lively environment and knows how to balance great service with high\-volume trading.
As Bar Manager, you’ll be responsible for delivering a seamless, engaging bar experience that keeps guests fuelled for the fun — from quick, high\-quality drinks to an upbeat atmosphere that matches the energy on the floor. You’ll lead from the front, building a confident and motivated team who can perform under pressure while keeping service slick, friendly and on point.
You’ll play a key role in driving sales, managing stock and margins, and maintaining consistently high standards, all while contributing to the overall vibe and success of the venue.
Responsibilities:
Operational:
- Assume responsibility for stock control including, wastage, ordering, invoicing, stock levels, and prepare purchase requisitions as needed to replenish supplies.
- Ensure rotas are available for the Bar team at all times.
- Demonstrate a thorough knowledge of food and beverage products, menus and promotions.
- Arrange all training sessions for new starters and existing staff to increase product knowledge.
- Hold regular review meetings with each bar team member
- Work with the Operations Manager to ensure that team staff levels are assessed weekly and actively recruit if needed
- Take a lead on all recruitment.
- Ensure all Health \& Safety standards are met, including legislative and licencing requirements
- Previous bar manager experience essential
- Experience in handling Point of sale (POS) terminals and Stock \& Inventory management software.
- Positive and proactive personality and great interpersonal skills required.
- Good interpersonal skills with both kitchen, front of house staff and management
- A positive approach
- An ability to train and mentor junior members of the team
Pay: Up to £36,000\.00 per year
