Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Bar Manager to oversee the daily operations of our bar and restaurant. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive hospitality experience, and a passion for delivering exceptional customer service. This role involves supervising staff, managing food and beverage service, ensuring food safety standards, and maintaining a welcoming environment for guests. The successful applicant will play a pivotal role in creating a vibrant atmosphere while ensuring operational efficiency and high\-quality service.
Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise the bar and restaurant team, including bartenders, servers, and kitchen staff, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
- Oversee food preparation, cooking, and food production processes to ensure quality standards are met consistently.
- Manage daily operations of the bar, including stock control, ordering supplies, and maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards in line with food safety regulations.
- Ensure excellent customer service by engaging with guests, addressing concerns promptly, and creating an inviting atmosphere.
- Implement training programmes for staff on hospitality best practices, food safety procedures, and responsible alcohol service.
- Monitor sales performance and develop strategies to maximise revenue while controlling costs.
- Maintain compliance with health and safety regulations across all areas of the establishment.
- Coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of stock and manage inventory effectively.
- Organise special events or promotions to attract new customers and enhance guest experience.
- Proven supervising experience within a hospitality environment, ideally in bars or restaurants.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage diverse teams effectively.
- Extensive knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and culinary practices.
- Experience in food safety standards and protocols relevant to hospitality settings.
- Familiarity with restaurant operations including serving procedures, kitchen experience, and hospitality management.
- Previous experience working in hotel or similar establishments is advantageous.
- Barista experience or knowledge of beverage preparation is desirable but not essential.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask efficiently under pressure.
- Strong communication skills coupled with a professional attitude towards guest service.
