Job Description:
A zero hour contract to cover Annual Leave and Sickness. This is great opportunity for someone to get to know the Sisters and their needs, with potential to become permanent member of staff, when a vacancy opens.
Overtime may be required to cover colleague absences.
£13\.75 per hour (basic rate)
£17\.06 per hour (Sat, till midday)
£20\.38 per hour (Sat pm and Sun)
£27 per hour (Bank holidays)
Rates are reviewed annually in April
The role requires the preparation and cooking of midday meals for a religious community of approximately 13 Sisters. Experience of cooking a variety of medical diets is an advantage as St Joseph’s Convent, New Inn is where we care for our elderly and sick Sisters. The job role is mainly at St Joseph’s Convent, New Inn, but there will also be times when you will be required to travel to, and work at, another site in central Newport.
Main duties:
- To prepare and cook nutritious and balanced meals in line with agreed menu choices.
- To liaise with the Clinical Lead/ Admin Manager to discuss nutritional needs and agree menus.
- To ensure special dietary needs are met at all times.
- To work with a positive attitude within a small team.
- To work within COSHH and HACCP guidelines.
