PROSPER Intensive Intervention \& Risk Management Service (IIRMS)

0\.4 WTE Permanent 8b Clinical/Forensic Psychologist

“\[PROSPER] is like a golden ticket, honestly, I feel so lucky and have come so far thanks to everyone here”. “Thank you to everyone \[at PROSPER] for supporting my recovery and getting me on the right path. I wouldn’t be where I am without you”. (Feedback from PROSPER service users).

Would you like to be part of a team and which receives feedback like this and make a real difference to the recipients of our PROSPER service? Then read on!

PROSPER is a joint NHS \& HMPPS commissioned partnership between Health and Probation services; it is the community\-based Intensive Intervention \& Risk Management Service (IIRMS) on the national Offender Personality Disorder (OPD) Pathway in the West Midlands, working directly with people on probation to reduce their risk of re\-offending and improve their well\-being. PROSPER recently achieved its Enabling Environment Award and prides itself on it’s collaborative, relational and trauma\-informed way of working.

The postholder will support the clinical lead of the service with the management and supervision of the multidisciplinary team; hold a small but complex caseload; and oversee the delivery and evaluation of the clinical interventions. There will be an expectation to work across the relevant bases across the West Midlands as needed, thus the ability to travel is essential. Duties may include undertaking specialised clinical assessments and interventions as required and developing case formulations and support plans, in conjunction with other professionals and the wider prison and/or Probation service. The successful candidate will need strong leadership and communication skills as well as an empathic and non\-judgemental attitude towards service users and the criminal justice system. Experience of working with adults with personality disorder and challenging behaviour and/or those involved in the criminal justice system, in addition to those with other psychological difficulties, neurodiversity and complex needs and risks will be highly beneficial, as will training in therapeutic approaches

The successful candidate will be joining a large and diverse psychological therapies team within the Secure Care \& Offender Health (SCOH) division. The division is committed to investing in staff and you will have opportunities for training, supervision, mentoring and career development.
