Are you looking for a role that really enables you to work holistically?

We have a rare opportunity for someone who appreciates the synergy between physical and mental health to join our established team at Fountain Way Hospital.

You’ll have at least 2 years experience as a registered clinician working for the NHS and a real interest in working with individuals experiencing serious mental illness (SMI). It’s a role in which no two days are ever the same and one that is challenging yet rewarding. You will be working as part of the MDT, primarily on our inpatient wards (adult and older adult), and there will be opportunity to develop a community service over time. The person we are looking for will be able to inspire, motivate and encourage those with both complex mental health and physical health needs.

Physiotherapy in Mental Health is becoming increasingly recognised in addressing the health disparities faced by those living with SMI. This is an interesting and varied role with opportunities for personal and service development.

Provide a physiotherapy service to service users on our adult and older adult wards at Fountain Way Hospital.

Opportunity to develop community services.

Provide assessment, treatment planning, intervention, review and evaluation with a complex caseload.

Liaison with local acute hospital physiotherapy and rehab teams.

Onward signposting to community groups and community activity/sport/health resources.

We are the lead provider of healthcare for people with serious mental illness, learning disabilities and autism across Bath and North East Somerset (BaNES), Swindon and Wiltshire, and Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire.

We aim to provide High Quality, Compassionate Care everywhere, every day. This means our services will be safe, clinically effective and provide a positive all round experience for our patients, families and carers. And we believe passionately in treating everyone with kindness, respect and empathy.

Key to this is providing a supportive and safe environment for our 4,000 staff where we all feel welcome and able to do the best we can for those we support. Our staff and teams work incredibly hard delivering services across more than 90 locations, covering 2,200miles, to more than 1\.8million people.

At AWP we actively encourage applicants from all backgrounds; we are particularly keen to encourage applications from people from Black, Asian and minority ethnic backgrounds, those with disabilities and from the LGBTQ\+ community. We want people to bring their unique blend of experiences, backgrounds, perspectives and knowledge to AWP, as diversity makes us stronger.
