Job Overview
Bank Health Care Assistants (HCAs) are at the core of the NHS.
We are looking to add to our pool of Bank HCAs who work at numerous locations across Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland. We are looking for applicants for all locations but would particularly welcome candidates able to work in: Loughborough, Oakham, Melton Mowbray, Market Harborough, Hinckley and Coalville.
If you are looking for flexibility and can demonstrate prior experience of working in a healthcare environment, then why not consider joining our bank? We are specifically looking for applicants who can demonstrate working in a Mental Health, Learning Disability or Autism environments as well as general healthcare.
An excellent applicant will be able to highlight a significant range of experiences in their application in such environments and will be able to ‘hit the ground running’ with minimal supervision in whatever team they would be working. This needs to be evidenced in your application.

Additional Information:
As an HCA you will support the healthcare team in the delivery of direct patient care. You will work closely with our nurses, allied health professionals and other healthcare professionals in multi\-disciplinary teams. Our patients include people of all ages and we provide both physical and mental health services across our Trust sites or at home/virtually.
You'll be joining our team of bank staff who provide cover across all areas of the Trust. You will work under a flexible zero\-hour bank agreement and can choose from available shifts to fit round your other commitments. Shifts vary and can cover days, nights, weekends and other shifts patterns.
Support and training:
On commencement you will attend a trust induction and undertake mandatory classroom\-based training such as basic life support, manual handing, infection control, safeguarding and more. Once you have completed the suite of mandatory training provided you will then be able to access booking onto shifts. Our Centralised Staffing Solutions Team will be on hand to support you with any queries or bookings to work on our bank.
Please note, although we have some work available within Leicester, we are a separate employer to University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust which manages the three Leicester hospitals.
