What you will do
As a Backend Engineer, you will build the high-performance APIs that transform terabytes of data into valuable insights for over 100,000 hotels worldwide. You will help support our existing BI customer base and develop features to attract new customers. You are passionate about writing clean, readable, and scalable code to help our customers make well-informed decisions. You will work in close collaboration with our product team and a talented group of software engineers, DevOps engineers to drive key initiatives forward.

We design, implement, and integrate the entire landscape that supports our business-critical processes, working on features for our BI tools and new performance plans. Our team architects the core abstractions and backend components that empower other engineering teams, playing a vital part in exposing data points to our internal services. You'll be part of a dynamic team with hubs in Ghent and Barcelona, collaborating with other engineers and business power users.

<li style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">Strong experience writing Python and/or Go for microservice architectures on a cloud platform like GCP (or any public cloud provider).</li>
<li style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">Proven experience dealing with large datasets in a NoSQL environment and a passion for performance optimizations.</li>
<li style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">Strong architectural thinking with a clear opinion on API design and architecture.</li>
