Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Automatic Door \& Roller Shutter Engineer to join our innovative team. This is a field\-based position in the Midlands Region with travel to other regions when required and is responsible for the servicing, maintenance, fault finding, repair and installation of automatic doors, roller shutters and associated entrance systems across a variety of client sites. Responsibilities
- Support the Engineering Supervisor and wider Ascot engineering team by delivering safe, compliant and high\-quality maintenance services in line with company, statutory and contractual standards.
- Install new automatic door systems, including sensors, motors, control panels, and safety features according to schematics and technical specifications.
- Conduct routine maintenance checks to ensure optimal performance of automatic doors and related components.
- Diagnose and repair faults promptly using hand tools, power tools, and fabrication techniques.
- Test electrical circuits, wiring, and control systems to identify issues and implement effective solutions.
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive repairs.
- Diagnose faults and complete repairs on automatic door and roller shutter systems.
- Ensure all works are completed safely and in compliance with relevant regulations and manufacturer requirements.
- Provide excellent customer service and maintain professional relationships with clients.
- Accurately complete job reports and service documentation.
- Coordinate with project managers, contractors, and clients to schedule maintenance or installation activities.
- Willing to be part of an on\-call rota, usually around 1 week in 4 (£150 weekly on\-call \+ £50 per call out \+ inflated hourly rate if called out, Company van included for on call duties and travelling between sites.
- Proven experience in electrical installation, repair or maintenance within the construction or building services industry
- Must be a qualified Automatic Door \& Roller Shutter Engineer holding relevant experience, trade qualifications and certificates
- Proven experience working with automatic doors and/or roller shutter systems.
- Strong fault\-finding and diagnostic skills.
- Knowledge of relevant industry standards and safety requirements.
- A full UK driving license.
- The ability to work independently and manage workloads effectively.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
