Auto Electrician – Wi\-Fi, Camera Installation Engineer, Telematics

Salary: From £26,500 per year Plus overtime

About K\&M Acoustics / Fleettec

Fleettec, based in Wigan is one of the leading automotive electrical installation companies in the UK, with over 30 years’ experience installing telematics, cameras and vehicle technology.

We’re looking to add another member of staff to our Fleettec team on our field team who travel around the U.K. installing our systems on different types of vehicles.

The role

As an Auto Electrician / Installation Engineer, you’ll:

· Travel from our base in Wigan or your home to customer sites in works vehicles (workplace or fleet hubs) to install:

· Fit Vehicle telematics / tracking devices

· Fit Dash cameras, DVR systems and safety cameras

· Fit Other in\-car electrical accessories (driver aids, multimedia, etc.)

· Work on a wide range of vehicles – including Buses and Coaches

· Diagnose and resolve basic electrical / installation issues on site

· Deliver a professional, friendly service – you are the face of Fleettec to our customers

· Work independently once trained, with full technical and engineering support from our in\-house team This is a hands\-on role ideal for someone who enjoys being on the road, solving problems and working with vehicle electrics.

What we’re looking for:

· An experienced Auto Electrician / Telematics / In\-Car Installation Engineer, or Someone with strong motor trade or mechanical experience who is confident working on vehicles and keen to retrain into telematics and camera installations.

Essential:

· Confident using basic electrical tools and hand tools

· Able to work independently once trained and follow installation guides accurately

· Full UK driving licence

· Eligible to work in the UK

· Good communication skills

· Physical fitness suitable for handling equipment and performing manual tasks over extended periods.

· Comfortable working outdoors on customer sites in all seasons

· Flexibility in working away from home/Nights away/Overtime

Desirable:

· Previous experience installing Telematics or tracking units Dash cams or CCTV camera systems, alarms, security or other in\-car electronics

· Experience working on vans, buses, coaches, HGV as well as cars If you have solid hands\-on vehicle experience and a genuine interest in auto electrics, we can provide the training you need.

· At least 1 year experience in the motor trade / vehicle maintenance / auto electrics (e.g. mechanic, auto electrician, accessory fitting)
