The Role

This role will be to provide a comprehensive audio typing and administrative service to a Physician/General Surgeon/Dental Consultant or group of Physicians/Surgeons/Dental Consultants or Associate Specialists

In this key role, you will:

• Provide high quality audio typing and administrative support for the consultant/ dental consultant/associate specialist team to ensure efficiency in patient care.


• Provide secretarial cover during periods of absence during which time required to deal with telephone and face to face enquiries from all staff groups, patients, relatives, carers, providing information, directing and prioritising queries as appropriate, to ensure efficiency and effectiveness of service delivery.


• During periods of absence and annual leave, the post holder is responsible for managing in\-patient and day surgery waiting lists ensuring that patient management system information is accurate and up to date to ensure waiting time targets are achieved.


• Manage patient files, ensuring information is accurate and up to date.

What You'll Bring:

• Educated to Standard Grade with an RSA or equivalent typing qualification


• Proficient in the use of software systems


• Advanced keyboard skills


• Medical terminology


• Good organisational and communication skills
