Role Overview

As Assistant Restaurant Manager, you'll support the Restaurant Manager in delivering exceptional dining experiences while driving sales, profitability, and team performance. You'll lead by example, inspire your team to achieve high service standards, and help ensure the smooth day\-to\-day running of the restaurant operation. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced hospitality professional looking to progress their leadership career within a people\-focused hotel group.

Main Responsibilities

  • Support the Restaurant Manager in delivering outstanding guest experiences and achieving departmental goals.

  • Lead, motivate, coach, and develop the restaurant team to deliver exceptional service standards.

  • Monitor business levels and proactively plan resources to ensure seamless operations during busy periods.

  • Conduct effective pre\-service and post\-service briefings to drive engagement and operational excellence.

  • Ensure high standards of cleanliness, presentation, and compliance are maintained throughout the restaurant.

  • Actively manage guest feedback and implement improvements to enhance the customer experience.

  • Support stock control, inventory management, and departmental cost control procedures.

  • Assist with payroll forecasting, rota management, and achieving budgeted financial targets.

  • Work collaboratively with colleagues across the hotel to maximise sales opportunities and drive revenue growth.

  • Deputise for the Restaurant Manager and act as Hotel Duty Manager when required.
About You

You’re a passionate hospitality professional who thrives in a fast\-paced environment and enjoys leading teams to success. You have a genuine commitment to delivering memorable guest experiences and take pride in creating a positive, engaging atmosphere for both guests and colleagues. With strong operational knowledge and excellent people skills, you're confident taking ownership, developing others, and contributing to the success of the restaurant.

  • Previous experience as a Food Beverage Supervisor or in a similar leadership role.

  • Strong understanding of restaurant operations and service excellence.

  • Experience leading, motivating, and developing teams.

  • Previous rota planning and labour management experience.

  • Excellent communication and relationship\-building skills.

  • Commercial awareness with an understanding of budgets and departmental performance.

  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.

  • Ability to effectively manage guest feedback and resolve issues professionally.

  • Confident using hospitality systems and Microsoft Office applications.
