Are you a Psychology graduate seeking to develop your clinical experience in mental health?

We are seeking a full time Assistant Psychologist to join our CAMHS team based in Swindon. This is a great opportunity for someone wanting to get a broad experience of working in a CAMHS service prior to pursuing a career in clinical psychology.

The post will include working with our generic CAMHS team and also some dedicated time within The Eating Disorder Service and our Neurodevelopmental Clinic. Supervision will be provided by a qualified clinical psychologist.

At times, there will be a need to travel to different sites across BSW, including schools and patients’ homes.

The role will include supporting the team by gathering and collating information relating to the assessment process by speaking with parents, schools and other professionals and will include the opportunity to be involved in service audits. Under supervision there will be an opportunity to be directly involved in assessments with children and young people and family members. There will also be an opportunity to undertake direct psychological interventions, again, under clinical supervision.

There are strong professional links in BSW CAMHS and psychology meet regularly to consider training, continuing development, specialist interest and service developments. We support APs to apply for Clinical Doctorate Training and have a proven track record of success in this area.

Assist in the formulation and delivery of psychological interventions under the supervision of a qualified Clinical Psychologist.

Support clinicians in delivering trauma\-informed care and interventions within the multidisciplinary team.

Contribute to service evaluation through audit, data collection, and research to inform ongoing development of the pathway.

Assist with psychological assessments and group interventions for young people and their families.

Work alongside multi\-agency professionals, supporting consultation processes to improve the understanding and care of young people with complex trauma.
