The Role:

The role will be part of the Staffordshire and Stoke on Trent joint PMO, managed by an LGR Programme Manager and based in the Strategy, Economy and Communications Service. The role is a hybrid role, with the Civic Centre in Stoke on Trent as its base, but with flexibility to work from home and a variety of locations across Staffordshire as per the demands of the work.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the planning and delivery of projects within the Local Government Reform Programme

  • Assist with programme governance, reporting, and risk management processes

  • Coordinate meetings, workshops, and stakeholder engagement activities

  • Maintain project documentation, action logs, and programme schedules

  • Monitor project progress and support the tracking of milestones and deliverables

  • Prepare reports, presentations, and briefing papers for senior managers and boards

  • Support communication and engagement activities across programme workstreams

  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, partners, and stakeholders to support programme outcomes

  • Ensure accurate record keeping and compliance with programme management processes
About You:
  • Experience supporting projects or programmes in a professional environment

  • Excellent organisational and administrative skills

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • A desire to learn and an enquiring mind

  • Ability to manage competing priorities and work to deadlines

  • Good analytical and problem\-solving abilities

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

  • Experience preparing reports and maintaining project documentation

  • A collaborative and proactive approach to work
