Assistant Operations Manager – Subway
We are looking for a motivated, reliable, and experienced Assistant Operations Manager to support the day\-to\-day operations of our Subway stores. The successful candidate will work closely with the Operations Manager and store teams to maintain high standards of customer service, food safety, cleanliness, staff performance, and overall store operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Area Manager with the daily running and performance of Subway stores.
- Visit and oversee stores to ensure Subway operational standards and company procedures are being followed.
- Support Store Managers and team members with day\-to\-day operational issues.
- Monitor customer service, food quality, cleanliness, and presentation standards.
- Assist with staff recruitment, interviews, onboarding, training, and development.
- Help prepare staff rotas and ensure appropriate staffing levels across stores.
- Monitor staff attendance, punctuality, performance, and productivity.
- Ensure food safety, hygiene, health \& safety, and company procedures are followed at all times.
- Assist with stock management, ordering, waste control, and inventory checks.
- Monitor cash handling, till procedures, petty cash, banking, and store paperwork.
- Help control labour, food, and other operating costs.
- Review store performance and identify areas where improvements are required.
- Support stores during busy periods, staff shortages, or operational issues when required.
- Assist with audits, compliance checks, maintenance issues, and equipment faults.
- Handle customer concerns professionally and ensure appropriate action is taken.
- Communicate regularly with Area Managers regarding performance, staffing, maintenance, and other operational matters.
Previous experience in Subway, quick\-service restaurants, fast food, retail, hospitality, or multi\-site operations is preferred. Supervisory or management experience would be an advantage.
The ideal candidate will have strong leadership and communication skills, be organised and reliable, and be confident working with different store teams. You should be comfortable handling operational problems, managing priorities, and maintaining high standards in a fast\-paced environment.
A full UK driving licence and ability to travel between stores preferable but not essential.
