Assistant Night Manager

We are currently seeking an experienced and professional Assistant Night Manager to join our Front Office team. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated hospitality professional who enjoys leading overnight operations in a luxury hotel environment.

About the Role

As Assistant Night Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth, safe, and efficient operation of the hotel during overnight hours. You will lead the night team, deliver exceptional guest service, oversee financial and security procedures, and maintain the high standards expected at The Johnstown Estate.

This position requires a confident and proactive individual who can manage guest relations, resolve issues effectively, and ensure operational excellence throughout the night shift.

Key Responsibilities

Guest Service \& Operations

• Deliver exceptional guest experiences during late check\-ins and early departures


• Handle guest queries, requests, and complaints professionally and efficiently


• Manage room allocations and oversee smooth overnight operations


• Assist in maintaining the presentation and cleanliness of public areas


• Review Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) and ensure event setups and signage are correct


• Coordinate breakfast arrangements for early departing groups

Security \& Safety

• Conduct regular property checks and night rounds


• Monitor hotel security and respond promptly to incidents or emergencies


• Lead emergency procedures when required and ensure compliance with hotel policies


• Maintain a secure and safe environment for guests and staff

Financial \& Administrative Duties

• Complete nightly audit procedures and reconcile accounts accurately


• Prepare reports and update daily revenue figures


• Manage cash handling and financial transactions securely


• Ensure all postings and checks are correctly processed within the PMS system

Team Leadership

• Supervise the overnight front office and operational teams


• Support and guide team members to maintain luxury service standards


• Work closely with housekeeping, maintenance, security, and F\&B departments to ensure seamless overnight operations

• Previous experience in hotel front office operations or night management


• Strong customer service and communication skills


• Excellent problem\-solving abilities and attention to detail


• Experience using hotel Property Management Systems (PMS)


• Good understanding of night audit and hotel financial procedures


• Knowledge of hotel security and emergency protocols


• Flexibility to work overnight shifts, weekends, and public holidays
