Job Description – Assistant Manager
The Cut \& Craft is a group of independently owned and operated British steak restaurants specialising in crafting luxurious and memorable dining experiences. It currently also operates 2 other premium and busy sites in York and Manchester City Centre.
We are looking for an experienced Assistant Manager to open and assist in the running of our flagship site. The ideal candidate will have been working in a management role in a fast paced, high\-end establishment. You will be a natural leader with a genuine passion for hospitality and people.
The Assistant Manager is responsible for the smooth running of the business. You will work varied shifts including opens and closes.
Your roles and responsibilities include managing a team of Front of House Staff, Communicating, pre\-shifting, and adhering to company standards, leading by example, and championing the brand in every way.
The role of our Assistant Managers is extremely hands on and present, we’re looking for an individual with a genuine passion for fresh food and drink, hospitality and a real people manager who can train, coach, and develop large teams.

Varied shifts including evening and weekends. Approx 45 hours per week.
Areas of Responsibility
Leadership
Lead by example, providing clear direction and guidance to the restaurant staff, fostering a positive and cohesive team environment, and ensuring that all team members are aligned with the restaurant's vision and values.
Operations Management
Oversee the day\-to\-day operations of the restaurant, including but not limited to staffing, scheduling, inventory management, and ensuring exceptional guest service and satisfaction.
Financial Management
Be aware of financial performance by controlling costs, optimising revenue, and maximising profitability while maintaining high quality and service standards.
Guest Experience
Maintain an unwavering commitment to delivering an exceptional dining experience to all guests, ensuring that service standards are consistently upheld and that any guest concerns are addressed promptly and professionally.
Team Development
Recruit, train, and develop a high\-performing team, providing ongoing coaching and mentorship to ensure that all staff members are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to excel in their roles.
Serving sections
You will often serve sections in the restaurant, taking care of VIP tables and large parties.
Systems Managing
Owning relevant systems such as Bizimply, OpenTable and FeedItBack when on shift and ensuring audits are completed within time frames
The Ideal Candidate Qualifications and Experience
Proven experience in a manager role within the hospitality industry, particularly in a high\- end or premium restaurant setting.
Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with a demonstrated ability to effectively manage and motivate a diverse team.
Exceptional organisational and multitasking abilities, with a keen eye for detail and the capacity to handle high\-pressure situations with professionalism and poise.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and the ability to build and maintain positive relationships with guests, staff, and vendors.
