Assistant Manager

Play and Learn are a high quality, play based service. We offer full day care to children between the ages of 1 \- 5\. We will also provide a school\-aged service from September 2026\. We are looking to recruit an Assistant Manager to join our busy service in Glenamuck Manor, Carrickmines, Dublin 18!

The Assistant Manager will be responsible for supporting the Centre Manager to oversee the daily running of the service and ensuring the health and safety of all children and staff.

What we require:

• A minimum QQI level 6 in Early Years qualification or equivalent but Level 7 or 8 QQI qualification an advantage.


• Positive interactions to ensure that the care of the child is our top priority.


• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.


• An ability to lead and motivate a team within the childcare sector.


• An ability to work in partnership with parents and other educators within the centre.


• Supervisor/management experience an advantage.


• Knowledge/experience of the Hive is also an advantage.

Daily Responsibilities/Duties:

• Daily risk assessments to ensure the safety of all children and staff.


• Organising the daily breaks plan for the service and ensuring it is being followed.


• Working with children, families and staff.


• Engaging in CPD.


• High Quality Ethos and role\-modelling the same.


• Staff training/Induction.


• Supporting the Centre Manager with the daily running of the service.
