Assistant Manager at Pub & Guesthouse (live-in available)

This dual\-role position involves serving food and drinks to customers in a fast paced pub environment while also assisting with the upkeep of the 7 bedroom guesthouse.
The ideal candidate will have a positive attitude, excellent customer skills and a strong attention to detail. You must be comfortable working flexible hours, including weekends.
Experience in hospitality is essential.
Duties
- Greet and seat guests promptly with a warm and friendly attitude.
- Take accurate food and beverage orders while providing recommendations and upselling menu items.
- Ensure timely delivery of food and drinks to tables, maintaining high standards of presentation.
- Serve drinks confidently behind the bar.
- Monitor guest satisfaction throughout their meal, addressing any concerns or requests promptly.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the dining area and bar.
- Adhere to food safety regulations and hygiene standards during food preparation and serving.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure efficient service and communication regarding orders.
- Process payments accurately and efficiently while handling cash or card transactions.
- Clean and service guest rooms to a high standard, including changing bed linen and cleaning bathrooms
- Taking responsibility for opening and closing the pub
- Managing stock levels, including deliveries, rotation and keeping storage areas tidy
- Previous experience in a restaurant or hospitality environment is preferred.
- Familiarity with food safety practices and culinary knowledge is advantageous.
- Strong time management skills to handle multiple tables efficiently during busy periods.
- Basic math skills for processing bills and handling transactions accurately.
- Excellent communication skills to engage with guests effectively and provide top\-notch service.
