Moods Leeds is a new café, bar and restaurant opening inside the restored First White Cloth Hall on Kirkgate.
The venue will bring together a daytime café, brunch offer, bar, restaurant and events space in one of Leeds’ most unique historic buildings. We are looking for an Assistant General Manager to join the opening team and support the General Manager in building a strong, professional and high quality operation from day one.
The role
This is a hands on management role across the whole venue, including café, bar, restaurant and events. You will support the General Manager with daily operations, team management, service standards, training, stock control, compliance and customer experience.
We are looking for someone with strong hospitality experience who can lead by example, stay calm under pressure and help create a positive working culture. You will need to be confident on the floor, comfortable managing people and able to keep standards high during busy services.
Responsibilities
Supporting the General Manager with the day to day running of the venue
Leading shifts across café, bar, restaurant and events
Managing front of house and bar team members during service
Maintaining high standards of customer service, presentation and cleanliness
Supporting staff training, development and performance
Helping with rotas, labour planning and daily team organisation
Supporting stock control, ordering and supplier communication
Handling customer feedback and resolving issues professionally
Making sure licensing, food safety, health and safety and allergen procedures are followed
Supporting private events, bookings and larger service periods
Helping build a positive, reliable and professional team culture
What we are looking for
Previous experience as an Assistant General Manager, Duty Manager, Restaurant Manager, Bar Manager, Café Manager or strong Supervisor
Experience in a busy hospitality environment
Confidence leading shifts and managing a team
Strong customer service standards
Good understanding of bar, restaurant or café operations
Ability to stay calm and organised under pressure
Good communication and problem solving skills
Reliable, professional and hands on approach
Comfortable working evenings, weekends and varied shifts
Personal licence would be useful, but not essential
What we offer
£35,000 per year
