Assistant General Manager

£13\.00 per hour \+ generous tips (currently averaging approximately £5\+ per hour)

Elixis is an independent, design\-led brunch and all\-day dining restaurant in the heart of South Kensington. We are passionate about quality, hospitality and creating exceptional experiences for our guests.

We are looking for an experienced and ambitious Assistant General Manager to support our General Manager in the day\-to\-day running of the business.

This is a hands\-on leadership role suited to someone who thrives in hospitality, leads by example and takes genuine pride in delivering outstanding service.

The Role

You will work closely with the General Manager to:

  • Lead and support junior team members

  • Maintain high service and presentation standards

  • Manage the floor during busy services

  • Ensure smooth communication between front and back of house

  • Liaise closely with the kitchen team and chefs throughout service

  • Check dishes before they leave the kitchen to ensure presentation, quality and portion standards are maintained

  • Ensure food is delivered to customers exactly as intended

  • Build relationships with regular customers

  • Gather guest feedback and help drive continuous improvement

  • Encourage satisfied customers to leave Google reviews

  • Support recruitment, training and onboarding

  • Help resolve customer issues professionally and confidently

  • Ensure opening and closing procedures are completed correctly

  • Take initiative and identify opportunities to improve the business

  • Assist with administrative tasks, stock management and reporting where required
About You

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has previous hospitality management or supervisor experience

  • Is confident managing a busy floor

  • Can make high\-quality speciality coffee

  • Has a strong eye for detail and takes pride in maintaining standards

  • Is comfortable communicating with chefs and front\-of\-house staff alike

  • Leads by example and motivates others

  • Takes ownership and responsibility

  • Is organised, proactive and reliable

  • Has excellent communication skills

  • Enjoys building relationships with guests and regular customers

  • Is comfortable following direction from senior management while also using their own initiative

  • Wants to be part of a small, close\-knit and supportive team

  • Bonus: has strong administrative skills and is comfortable using Excel and other business systems
