Assistant General Manager
Summary of Job Role
The Assistant Manager will support the General Manager in the overall leadership, management and successful operation of Bar Fibre.
The role requires a highly motivated, professional and hands on hospitality manager who is capable of taking responsibility for the venue in the absence of the General Manager. The Assistant Manager will play a key role in ensuring the smooth day to day operation of the business, maintaining high standards of customer service, developing the management and wider staff team, and supporting the commercial growth of the venue.
As the senior management position below the General Manager, the Assistant Manager will be expected to lead by example, take ownership of key areas of the business and support the General Manager in delivering sales, profit and operational targets.
The successful candidate will be confident in managing a busy and fast\-paced late night venue, dealing with challenging situations and making effective decisions under pressure.
Essential Characteristics and Experience Required
- Proven experience in a management position within the hospitality, bar, nightclub or late\-night industry.
- Experience of managing busy shifts within a high volume hospitality venue.

- Take responsibility for cash handling and financial security when managing shifts.
- Ensure management and staff follow all relevant cash and financial procedures.
- Support the General Manager with stocktakes and stock analysis.
- Ensure consistently high levels of customer service throughout the venue.

- Support the General Manager in ensuring the venue operates in accordance with all relevant legislation.
- Ensure the venue operates in accordance with Licensing Laws.
- Support the implementation of Health \& Safety procedures.
- Ensure staff are aware of and follow relevant policies and procedures.
- Ensure incidents and accidents are recorded and reported appropriately.
- Support the maintenance of a safe environment for customers and staff.
- Work closely with security providers and other relevant partners when required.
- Ensure appropriate action is taken when safety, security or compliance issues arise.
- Work closely with the General Manager to achieve the overall objectives of the business.
- Take ownership of agreed areas of responsibility within the venue.
- Support the implementation of new systems, procedures and initiatives.
- Assist with monitoring business performance and identifying opportunities for growth.
- Provide regular updates and feedback to the General Manager.
- Take full responsibility for the venue during periods when the General Manager is unavailable.
- Ensure all duties are carried out in accordance with company policies and procedures.

The Assistant Manager will be a confident and ambitious hospitality professional with a strong passion for customer service, nightlife and events.
The role requires someone who can successfully bridge the gap between the General Manager and Duty Management team. They must be capable of managing the day to day operation of the venue while also taking responsibility for developing staff, improving standards and contributing towards the commercial success of the business.
The successful candidate will be a hands on manager who leads from the front and is comfortable working in a fast paced, high pressure environment. They will be expected to take ownership, make decisions and act as the senior manager on duty when the General Manager is not present.
