5 days per week \- including Evenings and Weekends.
Assistant Food \& Beverage Manager
This is a hands\-on, guest\-facing leadership role supporting the Food \& Beverage Manager in the daily running of Henderson Bar \& Kitchen. The focus is on delivering outstanding restaurant and bar service, driving commercial performance, and maintaining consistently high F\&B standards.
The Assistant F\&B Manager is the second\-in\-command within the department and will take full responsibility for service in the absence of the F\&B Manager.
Key Responsibilities
Service \& Guest Experience
- Lead daily restaurant and bar service, setting the tone for pace, quality, and hospitality.
- Ensure every guest receives consistent, attentive, and knowledgeable service.
- Handle guest feedback and complaints quickly and professionally.
- Maintain high standards of menu knowledge, upselling, and allergen awareness across the team.
- Supervise and support the front\-of\-house team, including bar and waiting staff.
- Deliver clear briefings, service targets, and ongoing coaching.
- Drive a motivated, disciplined, and guest\-focused team culture.
- Support training, onboarding, and performance management.
- Oversee smooth day\-to\-day service across the restaurant, bar, and private dining/events.
- Manage reservations, table flow, and floor organisation to maximise covers and efficiency.
- Ensure consistent standards of presentation, cleanliness, and atmosphere.
- Maintain strong communication between front\-of\-house and kitchen to ensure smooth service delivery.
- Support full control of bar and beverage operations, including stock levels, ordering, and rotation.
- Assist with stock takes and investigate variances.
- Drive GP performance through portion control, wastage reduction, and efficient service.
- Support menu execution, seasonal changes, and product quality consistency.
- Ensure full compliance with food hygiene, health \& safety, and licensing regulations.
- Maintain accurate records including temperature checks, allergen logs, and cleaning schedules.
- Uphold brand standards across service, presentation, and guest experience.
- Support achievement of revenue, labour, and GP targets.
- Assist with rota planning to ensure efficient staffing levels across service periods.
- Act as Duty Manager when required, taking responsibility for the smooth running of service in the absence of the F\&B Manager.
